In a change of direction, hence the title of the album, the band have gone back to their roots in the mining towns of South Wales and written a batch of stirring, anthemic rock songs. Sometimes these idealistic motives can backfire and, because the distance between an old life and a new is so great, it is easy to appear patronising; The Alarm.
